Our resolution in 2016? We want to bring in lots more funding, juicers and produce this year to help folks living with cancer in their efforts to kick cancer to the curb. If you can help, please reach out to us via email at themamaednaproject@gmail.com or via our Facebook page (just click the letter “f” in the circle at the top right of this page, even if you don’t use Facebook). Are you an organic farmer that may be able to donate small amounts to a cancer victim on a regular basis? Or are you a retailer that could provide a juicer? A grocery store that could provide gift cards to buy produce or other healthy food items? Please let us know if you can help.

The Mama Edna Project and Battling Life Together-BLT Team up for the Holidays
by AndrewThe Mama Edna Project and Battling Life Together – BLT, are teaming up this holiday season to help at least two families impacted by cancer. We would like to have all donations ready for the families by December 20th. Please read the post that follows. We need cash donations, Target gift cards or grocery store gift cards to meet some very specific needs for these families during the holidays. Please share this post as you can and please donate if you can.

December is upon us and The Mama Edna Project and Battling Life Together aka @LauraBrandiJulie are joining forces this year to provide for a couple of families who are battling Cancer. Together We Can! Together we Will… Make a difference.
We would like to come together as we have in the past and share some love and compassion for these families to remind them they are Never Alone. We would prefer to receive Gift Cards or monetary donations for locations such as Target, Four Seasons’ Mall, Sears, even grocery stores or food chains; locations where the families can make purchases to suit the needs of each family member. These families can really benefit from our help.
If you can help please reach out to us or someone with Mama Edna and we will coordinate the efforts and donations to provide for these families.
We will obtain some specific wish list items and post this information very soon.
It is our goal to provide donated items to the families by December 20th. We hope you can help us provide some comfort to these families who want to have a Merry Christmas with their loved ones.
Thank you in advance,
The BLT Ladies and The Mama Edna Project

Juicer Donations!!!!!
by AndrewWe have some awesome news this month about a very generous donation that just came to us. Sur La Table, a great kitchen store, has just donated 8 gently used, Hurom juicer demo models to The Mama Edna Project. Based in Seattle, Sur La Table has stores nation wide. We are so very excited and thankful that we can help an additional 8 people with cancer in the coming weeks. One juicer has already been placed into the hands of a new cancer client this week in Houston, Arizona. Thanks Sur la Table!!!
If you or someone you know has a new or gently used slow (or masticating) juicer such as the Hurom Slow Juicer, the Breville Juice Fountain Crush, the Omega Slow Juicer or similar model that is no longer being used, please consider donating it to us so that we may pass it along to someone with cancer or other degenerative disease. We will provide you with a tax-deductible receipt as well.
Many thanks for your support in this endeavor of helping folks with cancer get the nutritional boost they so desperately need before, during and after treatment.
Our Spring fundraiser JUICING JoCO!!!!! is almost here!
by AndrewOn Sunday, April 27th, 2014, please help us raise awareness and funding for financially disabled folks living with cancer and other degenerative disease. Double Barley Brewing, located at 3174 U.S. 70, Smithfield, NC 27577 will be hosting this event. They are donating a portion of ALL pint beer sales to our project. Please come out in support of The Mama Edna Project and help us honor the life and legacy of Mama Edna Honeycutt McLamb as she felt strongly about “paying it forward” in any way she could. There will be great live music from great triangle musicians including Mike Edwards, Emma Davis, and Chrystal Dail Leonard and more. Stop by the juicing table to see Andrew Klutz and Timothy McLamb, founders of the project, for tasty, refreshing and cancer-fighting juices as well as pick up literature from The American Cancer Society about cancer prevention and treatment. Please see our Facebook page for the official event invitation and RSVP to the event. We want to see lots of familiar faces from JoCo and beyond. Thanks so much for your support!

Donations
by AndrewWe are always in need of donations, both of juicers and cash donations big and small. Juicing during an average cancer treatment becomes an expensive endeavor. Added to the juicing are supplements, candied ginger and Magic Mineral Broth, wheat grass powder, and so much more. We are very thankful for any size donations. Last week, we received a $1000 donation. That’s enough cash to assist several cancer clients. If you would like to donate, please mail checks made out to The Mama Edna Project to the following address:
The Mama Edna Project
c/o Andrew Klutz or Timothy McLamb
860 Appletree Lane
Cary, NC 27513
If you have any questions about donating or how funds are used, please reach out to me at my project at themamaednaproject@gmail.com.
Thanks for all your support. Let’s spread the love and pay it forward.
The Hurom Slow Juicer/Smoothie Maker
by AndrewThe juicer we use most often here The Mama Edna Project is the Hurom slow juicer/smoothie maker. Slow juicers tend to yield more juice from the produce that you put in it. Also, since slow juicers have no blades and turn slowly, the juice does not heat up and experiences less oxidation, which protects more of the enzymes, micro nutrients and phyto nutrients so critical in the care of terminal/chronic illnesses. This juicer retails for $399 and has a 10-year warranty. The extra cost for the machine is well worth the warranty and the increased yield and quality of the juice from the produce. We really need donations to purchase a couple new machines. Please donate if you can. See the ABOUT page for more information.
Donations Needed
by AndrewToday, we are adding a new juicing client to our circle of juicers. He is Stage IV lung cancer. Please read the post about the “Tool Kit”. When we meet for the first time with our new clients, this is the list of items we like to offer them. These items are a compilation of foods and products, as well as a juicer that we have seen to make a difference in how well folks tolerate chemo and radiation and cancer treatments in general. But, this list is very expensive. Currently, our reach is very small, based solely on current donations. Please give if you can. The Mama Edna Project. We are officially filed as a non-profit with the State of North Carolina and have filed with the IRS, but are awaiting the final documentation.
